Job Hunter

Automating the parts that suck, while doing what I love. There are things about job hunting I hate: looking through job offers ad nauseam, evaluating myself against every role, and adjusting each CV by hand. So I built something that does those 3. The cover letter, the interview and the test task stay mine. This is a replay of it on 12 made-up listings.

  1. 1. Search
  2. 2. Evaluate
  3. 3. Adjust the CV

The first 5 days of the real thing, on my own search.

1 Search: would this title get through?

The first cut is plain rules, no AI. Type any job title.

Try:

2 Evaluate: how good is good enough?

Each listing that survives gets a score out of 100. The bar depends on where the job is. Drag one.

3 Adjust the CV: same facts, different emphasis

Sam Nowak Invented candidate: 9 years as a content and UX writer in software companies, based in Szczecin.

  • UX Writer, Kestrel Pay (payments app), 2022 – 2026
  • Content Writer, Lumen Desk (B2B SaaS), 2019 – 2022
  • Junior Copywriter, Brightloop (e-commerce agency), 2017 – 2019

Two listings cleared the bar. Sam's history is identical in both CVs. What changes is what leads.

For: UX Writer, Monetka 96

UX Writer — Fintech & Mobile Payments

UX writer with 9 years of writing inside software companies, most recently 2022 to 2026 on a payments app at Kestrel Pay. Wrote and maintained all of its in-app copy, covering onboarding, error states and push notifications, and kept the product's voice and tone guide. Works in Figma alongside product designers and rewrote the identity-verification flow with the design team. Earlier work in help-centre documentation and B2B content built the habit of interviewing engineers and turning the answers into plain English.

Skills, in the order the CV lists them

  1. UX writing & microcopy
  2. In-app copy for a payments app
  3. Onboarding copy
  4. Error states
  5. Voice and tone guides
  6. Figma
  7. Fintech
  8. Push notifications

First bullet under each job

  • Kestrel Pay: Wrote and maintained all in-app copy for a fintech mobile payments app, including onboarding, error states and push notifications.
  • Lumen Desk: Wrote 60+ help-centre articles for B2B customer-support software.
  • Brightloop: Wrote product descriptions, newsletters and landing pages for online shops at an e-commerce agency.

What it told Sam, not the employer

Strong shot: Kestrel Pay covers almost every line of the listing (in-app copy for onboarding, payments and error states, the voice and tone guide, Figma, fintech), but the profile has no WCAG, content testing or researcher collaboration, no portfolio links to show, and the 2022–2026 stint only just meets the 4+ years of UX writing.

All 6 gaps it flagged
  • No accessibility (WCAG) experience in the profile (nice to have)
  • No content testing experience in the profile (nice to have)
  • No stated work with researchers; the profile only mentions product designers
  • UX writing tenure is 2022–2026, which sits right at the 4+ year minimum; the earlier 5 years were content writing and copywriting
  • Fintech experience is in payments, not banking specifically, and the profile gives no user-scale figure to set against 2 million users
  • No portfolio links in the profile, so the CV carries no selected work samples

For: Senior Content Writer, B2B SaaS, Helpwise Cloud 80

Senior Content Writer — B2B SaaS, Customer-Support Software

Content and UX writer with 9 years in software companies, 3 of them at Lumen Desk, a B2B SaaS company that makes customer-support software. There: long-form blog posts and comparison pages optimised for search, 60+ help-centre articles, and case studies built on customer interviews. Since 2022, UX Writer at Kestrel Pay, writing all in-app copy for a payments app and its voice and tone guide. Interviews engineers and turns the answers into plain English.

Skills, in the order the CV lists them

  1. B2B SaaS content
  2. Long-form articles
  3. Comparison pages
  4. SEO content
  5. Case studies and customer stories
  6. Customer interviews
  7. Interviewing engineers
  8. Help-centre documentation

First bullet under each job

  • Kestrel Pay: Wrote and maintained all in-app copy for a payments app: onboarding, error states and push notifications.
  • Lumen Desk: Wrote long-form blog posts and comparison pages for a B2B SaaS customer-support product, each optimised for SEO.
  • Brightloop: Wrote product descriptions, newsletters and landing pages for online shops at an e-commerce agency.

What it told Sam, not the employer

Same product category as Lumen Desk and the day-to-day work matches almost line for line, but the profile shows 3 years of B2B SaaS content against the 5+ asked, the last 4 years were UX writing in fintech, and there are no portfolio links to back the long-form claim.

All 9 gaps it flagged
  • 5+ years of B2B SaaS content: the profile shows 3 years (Lumen Desk, 2019 – 2022); Kestrel Pay is a fintech app and UX writing, not B2B content
  • Portfolio of long-form work: the profile has no portfolio links, so the CV carries no selected work
  • Owning SEO briefs end to end: the profile says SEO-optimised writing, not brief ownership or keyword research
  • Interviewing a product team for content: the profile covers customer interviews and interviewing engineers, with no employer attached to the latter
  • HubSpot (nice to have): not in the profile
  • Product analytics (nice to have): only Google Analytics 4 and Search Console, which are web analytics
  • Video scripting (nice to have): not in the profile
  • No senior title held to date
  • No recent long-form work: the newest B2B content dates from 2022
The real one

What runs every morning

  • Every morning it pulls the new listings from job boards.
  • Rules do the first cut for free: the title has to look like a job I do, and the location has to be remote, my city, or hybrid in Warsaw.
  • Claude reads what survives and scores each listing against my profile. This is where "fluent German required", buried in the small print, gets caught.
  • For the few worth applying to, it adjusts my CV: which role leads, which skills come first, which of the listing's own terms truthfully apply.
  • It can only use facts from a profile file I wrote. It can't invent a tool, a number or a job, and it has to list where I fall short.

This page

What's made up here

  • The listings, the companies and Sam Nowak are invented. Any resemblance to a real job is bad luck.
  • The scores, reasons, CV text and gaps are real output: I ran the actual pipeline on these listings once and saved what came back.
  • This page calls no AI. The title checker and the sliders run the same rules as the real tool, in your browser.
  • The real tool is free to download, and runs on Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI or a local model.
